About Us

Who we are

Ben Swett is the CEO of Windowbox.com, Inc, and Jim Andreoli is a VP at Baker Commodities. We met through the Vernon Chamber Of Commerce, and we love our unique little town. Vernon is an exclusively industrial city that benefits all Southern Californians. It can be noisy and smelly, sure - but it's vital to all of our daily lives. You could say it's LA county's "Kitchen Sink." Anyway, we are both the kind of guys who can embarrass our wives and bore our friends by going on and on about how great Vernon is.

This fall, Ben was working with a class of art students from the Otis School of Design who were studying Vernon. The students said it would be cool to have a website with some of their ideas and images, we started talking about having windowbox.com host it (that site - VernonImages.com, can be reached here.)

The city government and most people involved in Vernon are pretty low key, so there is no big city PR effort or Convention and Visitor’s Bureau or any kind of website that gives interested people a picture of Vernon. As we talked about it, we realized that putting up a site that lets people (besides us) tell their Vernon stories might be a cool way to let people interested in our town learn more about it, so we invested some time and some money in this project.

If you are connected to Vernon and you don't mind having us publish your photo and your "Vernon Story," please get in touch. Similarly, if you have a website that we should have a link to, and you would like to link to us, please contact webmaster@vernonworks.org. Vernon has some great businesses, and we'd like to like to most of them on this site.

This is a work in progress that may continue to grow. We welcome your feedback - our email addresses are below. If you want to learn more about Vernon, for any reason, feel free to contact showMe@vernonworks.org and we'll try to hook you up with the right people. We are especially interested in hearing from educators, members of the Press, politicians and their aides, manufacturing companies, people from neighboring cities, creative people who own small companies, heavy electric power users, LA river aficionados and any potential customers of Windowbox.com!

Please get in touch if you would like to stop by.
